Rain by Ches Anthony

Ches Anthony

Ches Anthony is back with his last drop of 2021 – his acoustic version of hit single ‘Rain.’
Ches released the fully produced version of the single in October, with a music video closely following. The music video for the single was even featured on CMT.
Ches wanted to bring out the raw beauty and classic country side of the single, so ‘Rain (Acoustic)’ was born.
Through his lyrics, “Hard work is all it takes.
Putting in hard work till dusk…just need a little rain,” he displays a deep connection and trust between farmer and earth.
The acoustic guitars pair with sparse drums and an ever-present sound of rainfall.
The peaceful production accentuates the emotional lyrics of the song. We also get to see a softer, more vulnerable side of Anthony’s vocals.
His trademark gruff and grit is toned down and used in specific moments to really emphasize the lyrics.
Rain is representative of everything important in his life: Family, his livelihood, his entire life.
‘Rain (Acoustic)’ is a beautiful new spin on the already amazing song.
Ches Anthony grew up in a small town in Saskatchewan, surrounded by music and motocross.
He learned to play harmonica, guitar, and piano at a young age.
His father would bring him up on stage with his blues band where he performed for their fans.
Through his teenage angst years, Ches formed a heavy rock band and wrote songs that would help him, and others relate to the struggles of youth.
In 2015, he went back to his country/blues roots and joined Sony-signed group Cold Creek County.
While honing his guitar skills playing in the band for several years, he began to listen to the heartache and emotion in old blues masters’ voices like Howlin’ Wolf and Elmore James and the old country grit of Johnny Cash and Hank Williams, he started to develop his own writing and singing style.
Ches Anthony then decided to go solo in 2018.
He has two albums out already and will have his third out at the beginning of this year.
Two of Ches Anthony’s releases were written by Chris Stapleton, a true honor to Ches, as he is one of his biggest influences.
The emotional passion in his vocals and heart-hitting lyrics relate to everyone, from their own struggles and conflicts to confidence and success, which is what makes us feel something when we hear Ches Anthony’s music.
Ches has headlined several big-time shows, including Whiskey Jam in Nashville.
Anthony has also played several sold-out shows in Saskatoon, CA.
On the rock side of his career, he played major festivals such as Warped Tour and toured with Three Days Grace.
Ches is currently working on his next full-length studio album, which will release in the new year.
